What is the difference between parked domain and addon domain ?

Addon Domain:

The domain which points to another domains ( primary domains ) document root and seen as a separate website with different content that the other domain is called an Addon Domain.

By adding a domain as an Addon domain, you can create two different domains on a single account.

For Example:

You can have alice.com as primary domain and john.com as an add-on domain. Then john.com would be a completely separate Web site and visitors would not know that it is part of primary account alice.com.

Parked Domain:

If a domain is pointed to the primary domain of the account, then it is called as Parked domain. Here both the domains will load the same contents.

For Example:

If alice.com is your primary domain, you can purchase the john.com and assign it as a parked domain so that if a visitor type john.com they would see the same Web site as if they had typed alice.com.

Before adding a parked domain you need to confirm that the domain is registered with a valid registrar. Otherwise it will not function.
