Management for customer-owned bare metal

What dedicated server management actually covers

Dedicated server management is ongoing administration of a physical server that belongs to you or is rented in your name from a provider. It does not include selling the machine, bundling a hosting contract or moving your infrastructure to us.

Our engineers work at the operating-system and service level. Coverage can include Linux or Windows, a control panel or a command-line environment, and the web, database, DNS and mail services supporting the workload. We also review firewall policy, privileged access, updates, resource use and existing backup jobs.

This model is useful when a dedicated machine gives you the performance, isolation or licensing arrangement you need, but routine administration has become too important to leave between incidents. iServerSupport has supported production server environments for 14 years, with work recorded through the support system so another engineer can follow the server history when required.

Hardware replacement and data-centre access remain with the server owner or provider. We diagnose from the operating system, available hardware telemetry and service behaviour, then give you clear evidence to take to remote hands or the hardware vendor when physical intervention is required.

Problems found early

Availability, capacity and critical services are checked before customers become the monitoring system.

Load traced properly

Processes, queries, storage latency and traffic are reviewed to find the real source of pressure.

Security maintained

Updates, administrative access, firewall rules and exposed services receive routine attention.

Changes documented

Completed work, current risks and recommendations remain visible instead of living with one person.

Mail faults investigated

Queues, authentication, DNS, reputation signals and sending services are checked together.

Backup failures stay visible

Existing jobs, schedules, destinations and errors are reviewed so failed backups are not ignored.

What the plan covers

Ongoing administration for a dedicated physical server

The plan combines routine maintenance with hands-on technical investigation across the operating system and the production stack.

24/7 Server Monitoring

Availability, load, memory, storage use and critical services are monitored continuously. Alerts are routed to the operations team for investigation and basic recovery action.

OS and Security Updates

Supported operating-system and service updates are reviewed with compatibility, workload and production impact in mind before installation.

Security Hardening

Firewall policy, remote administration, brute-force controls, unnecessary services and common configuration weaknesses are reviewed and tightened.

Load and Performance Troubleshooting

CPU saturation, memory pressure, slow storage, database waits and unstable services are traced with system evidence instead of guesswork.

Web, Database and Mail Stack

Apache, NGINX, PHP-FPM, MySQL, MariaDB, DNS, mail and related services are configured, maintained and repaired within the agreed plan scope.

Account and Backup Oversight

We investigate system accounts, permissions, quotas and existing backup jobs, including failed schedules and capacity warnings that need action.

Clear ownership

Your server stays yours. We manage it.

Keep the provider, hardware lease or ownership, network allocation and data-centre relationship you already have. Our responsibility begins at the agreed administrative layer, with changes and findings recorded for your account.

A typical managed dedicated environment includes

  • Privileged operating-system administration through access you control
  • Servers with no panel, or supported cPanel, Plesk and DirectAdmin environments
  • Production web, database, DNS, mail, firewall and scheduled services
  • Monthly reviews, documented recommendations and unlimited covered support tickets

Compatibility note: operating systems, control panels and server software must remain within a supportable lifecycle. We review legacy versions during onboarding and recommend a migration or upgrade path when routine security maintenance is no longer safe. Physical repair, parts and on-site remote hands remain with your provider.

Choosing the operating model

Self-managed dedicated server compared with managed coverage

The hardware may be identical. The operational difference is who watches it, maintains it and takes responsibility for difficult server-level faults.

MonitoringChecks depend on tools, routing and whoever is available internally.24/7 monitoring routes server and service alerts to an operations team.
UpdatesOperating-system and service maintenance can be postponed by other work.Updates are reviewed, planned and checked against the production workload.
TroubleshootingComplex faults depend on the server knowledge available at that moment.System, application-service, traffic and storage evidence is investigated together.
ContinuityHistory and access may sit with one developer, owner or administrator.Tickets, monthly reviews and documented changes remain available to the team.
Cost modelInternal time and emergency help vary with every incident.A defined monthly plan starts at $99 per managed physical server.

Best fit: organisations that want to retain their dedicated-server provider and account while adding continuous operational coverage.

Choose the right support path

Continuous management or help with one incident?

Use the monthly plan for continuing operational responsibility. Choose one-time support when the work has a defined start and finish.

How dedicated server onboarding works

We establish the server state and responsibilities before routine management begins.

Share server details

Tell us the provider, hardware arrangement, operating system, control panel, workload and current concerns.

Baseline review

We inspect services, capacity, updates, access, firewall policy, resource use and existing backups.

Agree priorities

Urgent risks, maintenance needs and ownership boundaries are documented before disruptive changes.

Begin management

Monitoring, planned maintenance, covered tickets and monthly reporting continue under the plan.

iServerSupport are fantastic, will definitely be using their support going forward. They fixed my Linux server after it lost MySQL in a cPanel update. I had done more damage than good, and they fixed it within minutes. Legends!

Dedicated server management FAQ

Need to confirm an operating system, unusual stack, hardware arrangement or multi-server requirement? Send the details and we will check the fit before onboarding.

The monthly plan includes 24/7 availability and service monitoring, operating-system and security updates, firewall and access review, hardening, performance troubleshooting, web, database and mail service administration, oversight of existing backup jobs, monthly reviews and unlimited support tickets for work covered by the plan.

No. iServerSupport does not sell hosting, dedicated servers or hardware. You retain your existing server, data-centre or hosting provider, account ownership and provider billing. We manage the operating system and supported services on the dedicated server you already own or rent.

We manage current supported releases of AlmaLinux, Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, Debian, RHEL and Windows Server. Dedicated servers can be managed without a control panel or with supported cPanel, Plesk and DirectAdmin environments. We review legacy operating systems and unusual stacks before confirming coverage.

Dedicated server management is organised around a physical server and the operational risks that come with a single bare-metal machine. Linux Server Management focuses on Linux administration across VPS, cloud and dedicated infrastructure. cPanel Server Management adds WHM-specific administration. Cloud Server Management covers virtual cloud instances and provider-specific cloud services. We will direct you to the most specific plan for your environment.

Managed dedicated hosting normally bundles a server rental and management from the hosting company. iServerSupport is independent of the infrastructure provider. We add management to a dedicated server you already have, so you keep control of the hardware contract, provider account, location and billing.

Dedicated server management starts at $99 per physical server per month with no setup fee. Multi-server environments, clustered services and unusual application stacks are reviewed so the plan reflects the actual operational scope.

Yes. A specific outage, failed boot, high-load incident or administrator task can be handled through Emergency Server Support or Hourly Server Administration. The monthly plan is appropriate when you need continuous monitoring, routine maintenance and ongoing access to engineers who know the server.

Yes. This page covers dedicated physical servers. VPS server management is available through the relevant Linux, Windows, cPanel or Plesk plan, depending on the operating system and control panel. Virtual and physical servers can also be covered together when an environment uses both.

The server itself can be administered by our infrastructure team, while customer-facing white-label ticket and chat coverage is available through Outsourced Web Hosting Support. We keep the operational and customer-support scopes clear during onboarding.

We can investigate operating-system symptoms, review hardware health data exposed by the platform and coordinate technical findings with you or the provider. Physical replacement, remote-hands work, parts, data-centre access and provider charges remain the responsibility of the hardware owner or hosting provider.

Put an operations team behind your dedicated server

Keep your existing hardware and provider. Add continuous monitoring, maintenance, security work and expert troubleshooting from $99 per server each month.
