Practical server administration

What server management means in practice

Continuous operational care for business infrastructure, without changing who owns or hosts it.

Server management services provide ongoing responsibility for the operating system and the services running on it. Instead of waiting for a fault to become downtime, engineers watch health signals, maintain the system and investigate abnormal behaviour as it develops.

This is not a hosting package. We do not sell a VPS, dedicated server or cloud account. Your infrastructure stays with the provider you selected, and you retain the account, billing and access. iServerSupport manages the technical layer inside that environment.

Work can include operating system updates, service configuration, access reviews, firewall policy, resource analysis, incident troubleshooting and oversight of existing backup jobs. Production changes are based on evidence and the impact on your workload, not a generic checklist applied without context.

Extend your technical coverage

A practical extension to your internal team

These server support services can supplement an existing IT or development team, or provide operational coverage where a business does not need a full-time systems administrator.

What the service covers

Ongoing server support for production systems

One plan brings together routine administration, security maintenance and experienced troubleshooting. The exact work is shaped around the operating system, services and workload on each server.

24/7 Server Monitoring

Availability, load, memory, disk use and critical service checks run continuously. When a monitored condition fails, the alert is routed to our operations team for investigation rather than left for a customer to discover.

Updates and Maintenance

Operating system and service updates are reviewed with the production workload in mind. Routine maintenance, configuration work and approved changes are handled through a controlled process instead of being postponed indefinitely.

Security Hardening

Administrative access, exposed services, firewall policy, brute-force controls and common configuration risks are reviewed. Security updates and practical recommendations form part of ongoing server maintenance.

Performance Troubleshooting

High load, memory pressure, slow databases, disk bottlenecks and unstable services are traced using logs and resource data. The goal is to identify the cause before changing limits or restarting services.

Backup Job Oversight

Existing backup schedules, job status and storage warnings are checked so failed protection does not remain unnoticed. Restore requirements and provider or third-party storage remain under your control.

Support and Change Work

Use covered support tickets for server administration, service faults and planned changes within the plan scope. The work stays connected to the same environment history, rather than starting from zero with every request.

A controlled operating model

How a server moves into ongoing management

We establish the condition of the environment first, then maintain a clear record of work, risks and follow-up items.

Baseline review

We review access, operating system versions, services, resource use, firewall settings, updates and the current backup status.

Monitoring and maintenance

Health checks are configured and recurring administration begins around the needs of the production workload.

Incident investigation

Alerts and support requests are investigated using logs and system data before corrective changes are made.

Reporting and follow-up

Completed work, open risks and recommendations are documented so the state of the server remains visible.

We had a difficult urgent server migration due to an OVH issue. The team did an awesome job migrating us to a new server. Other companies could not solve the issue. Highly recommended for Linux server issues.

Server management services FAQ

The monthly service covers 24/7 monitoring, operating system and service maintenance, security updates, firewall and access review, performance troubleshooting, oversight of existing backup jobs, monthly audits and unlimited support tickets for covered server work.

No. iServerSupport manages infrastructure that you already own or rent. You keep your server provider, cloud account, billing and administrative control. We provide server administration and support, not the underlying hosting product.

Yes. You keep ownership of your servers, cloud accounts and provider relationships, and our engineers act as your external administration team for monitoring, maintenance, security and support. If you run a hosting company and need a white-label team to handle your own customers' support tickets, that is a separate offering: outsourced web hosting support.

Yes. The service can cover VPS, dedicated and cloud servers, including systems hosted on AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. A single virtual machine can use cloud server management, while environments involving IAM, networking and provider-managed services may need cloud infrastructure management.

We support common Linux and Windows Server environments, with or without a control panel. Specialist plans are available for Linux server management, cPanel, Plesk and DirectAdmin.

Yes. Onboarding begins with a baseline review of access, updates, services, security, resource use, monitoring and backup status. Urgent risks are documented before disruptive changes are made.

The plan includes oversight of existing backup jobs and warnings. Backup storage, licences and provider charges remain separate. Restore testing, replication and a complete disaster recovery plan must be reviewed and agreed according to the workload rather than assumed to be included automatically.

Ongoing management provides continuing monitoring, maintenance and covered administration under a monthly plan. Emergency server support is for a specific urgent fault or one-time investigation and does not replace routine management after that incident is resolved.

The standard server management plan starts at $99 per server per month with no setup fee. Larger environments can request a plan based on server count, platform and support requirements.
