Your provider stays unchanged

Use the VPS, dedicated server or cloud account you already control.

One clearly defined setup

We confirm the operating system, services and expected result before work.

Configuration documented

You receive a concise record of the completed build and relevant notes.

A production-ready foundation

A server needs more than software installation

A fresh server may be online, but it is not automatically ready to carry a real workload. Versions must be compatible, services need the correct order and permissions, network access must be deliberate, and the finished system must survive a reboot.

Our server setup service starts with the workload rather than a generic checklist. We identify what the server will run, select a suitable supported stack and configure the components around those requirements.

We do not sell hosting, VPSs or cloud accounts. This is an engineer-led server installation service for infrastructure you purchase from your preferred provider.

Requirements mapped

The workload, software, ports, DNS and access model are clarified before installation.

Supported versions chosen

Operating system and service versions are selected for compatibility and maintainability.

Access and DNS planned

Administrative access, hostnames, records and required network paths are considered together.

Security baseline applied

Updates, secure access and firewall rules are configured for the agreed service exposure.

Services tested

Processes, ports, startup behaviour and the expected application path are checked.

Handover documented

Completed work, important settings and any remaining customer actions are recorded.

What we can configure

Server setup built around your workload

The final scope is based on what the server must do. These are common parts of a new server build, not a forced package of software you may not need.

Operating System Baseline

Hostname, time, repositories, updates, storage, networking and administrative access prepared on a supported Linux release.

Apache or Nginx Web Stack

Web server, PHP or another agreed runtime, virtual hosts, TLS readiness and sensible service limits for the planned applications.

Database Server Configuration

MariaDB, MySQL or PostgreSQL installed with access controls and a baseline configuration appropriate to the available resources.

Control Panel Installation

Supported cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin installation after checking the operating system, hostname, licence and provider requirements.

DNS, Mail and Secure Access

Required DNS records, service hostnames, SSH controls and server-side mail components configured within the agreed purpose of the server.

Containers and Dependencies

Docker, application runtimes and server-side dependencies configured when the required versions and deployment model are defined in advance.

How we turn fresh infrastructure into a working server

A provider can provision compute, storage and an operating-system image in minutes. That creates infrastructure, not a finished production system. The server still needs a coherent service stack, controlled access and proof that each component behaves as expected.

We begin by checking the available CPU, memory, storage, network layout and provider controls against the intended workload. The operating system and software versions are then chosen together, especially when a control panel or commercial application has strict support requirements.

Installation order matters. Repositories, hostnames, DNS, licences, runtime dependencies and firewall access can affect later stages of the build. Treating those decisions as one plan prevents avoidable rework and conflicting defaults.

Before handover, we verify listening services, expected ports, process startup and reboot persistence. Where DNS or TLS depends on an external change, we document what is complete and what still needs to propagate or be supplied.

If the server will remain in production, you can add ongoing server management after the one-time setup.

Base systemOperating system, updates, hostname, networking, time, storage and administrator access.
Service stackWeb, database, runtime, control panel or container components required by the workload.
Security baselineSecure access, firewall exposure, current packages and removal or restriction of unnecessary services.
Launch verificationProcesses, ports, DNS dependencies, startup behaviour and agreed service paths checked before handover.
Clear one-time scope

One server build with an agreed result

The standard price is for a defined single-server setup. We confirm the requested components, access and expected handover before the work starts so the installation has a clear finish line.

Typical standard setup scope

  • One VPS, dedicated server or cloud instance with a supported operating system
  • Agreed web, database, control panel, runtime or container components
  • System updates, secure administrative access and appropriate firewall baseline
  • Service checks, reboot verification and concise handover notes

Quoted separately when needed: provider charges, operating system or control panel licences, paid software, application development, code debugging, data import, workload migration, high-availability architecture and ongoing administration. A reinstall that could overwrite existing data is never treated as a routine setup without explicit review and a suitable backup plan.

Choose the right service

New server setup, migration or ongoing management?

The correct service depends on whether you are building a clean environment, moving an existing workload or asking a team to operate the server after launch.

Fresh infrastructure

One-Time Server Setup

Best when your provider has delivered a new server and you need an engineer to install, configure and verify the agreed production stack.

  • From $129 for a defined single-server build
  • Software and configuration agreed before work
  • Testing and handover included within scope

Existing workloads or continued operations

Migration and Server Management

Choose migration when websites, databases or mail must move from another system. Choose management when the new server needs monitoring, maintenance and continuing technical support.

  • Migration planned around compatibility and downtime
  • Ongoing management available after launch
  • Your infrastructure provider remains unchanged
A controlled build process

How the server setup service works

Each build starts with the outcome and ends with verification, not merely a list of installed packages.

Share the build requirements

Tell us what the server will run, the provider, available resources and any required control panel or application stack.

Confirm scope and access

We check compatibility, licences, DNS dependencies, privileged access and any customer actions needed before installation.

Install, configure and test

The agreed components are installed in a controlled order, configured for the workload and checked after service or system restarts.

Receive the handover

We report completed work, relevant configuration notes and any remaining DNS, application or provider-side action.

Client feedback

Trusted for careful server work

Customers call us when a server needs clear technical ownership, from a new build to difficult repair and migration work.

iServerSupport are fantastic, will definitely be using their support going forward. They fixed my Linux server after it lost MySQL in a cPanel update. I had done more damage than good, and they fixed it within minutes. Legends!

Server setup and installation FAQ

Have a non-standard stack, unusual provider or existing data on the machine? Send the requirements before ordering and we will confirm the correct scope.

The agreed build can include operating system preparation, updates, hostname and network configuration, a web and database stack, a supported control panel, DNS, secure access, firewall rules, service testing and a handover summary. The exact components are confirmed before work begins.

No. You purchase or rent the VPS, dedicated server or cloud instance from your preferred provider. iServerSupport configures the server you already own or control.

We work with current supported releases of AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu and Debian, plus other suitable Linux distributions after review. The correct operating system depends on the control panel, application and vendor requirements.

Yes. We can install and configure supported releases of cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin when the server meets the panel vendor's requirements. The control panel licence and provider charges are separate.

The standard build includes an appropriate security baseline such as updates, secure administrative access, firewall configuration and removal or restriction of unnecessary exposure. Advanced work is available through our server security service.

Yes, when the required versions and deployment needs are defined in advance. We can configure Docker, supported runtimes and server-side dependencies, but application development and code debugging are separate services.

Many standard single-server builds can be completed within one business day after working access, licences and requirements are available. Complex stacks, DNS changes, provider restrictions or data migration can extend the schedule.

Yes. The standard price starts at $129 for one server with a clearly agreed setup scope. Additional servers, unusual software, migration work or complex application requirements are quoted separately.

Yes, but migration is a separate scope because the amount of data, application compatibility and acceptable downtime must be assessed. See our server migration service for moving existing workloads.
