For enabling awstats in cPanel. Follow the steps below,

Step 1.

You need to login whm/Cpanel interface using root account and go to

WHM >> Main >>Statistics Software Configuration

Step 2.

Check on Awstats under “Generators Configuration”
Step 3.

Tick Allow all users to change their web statistics generating software.

Step 4.

Disable all other stats log viewer.

You you may need to generate the log files manually for the initial verification,
You can use SSH to update the stats by issuing the following command,

/scripts/runweblogs [username]

You can now see that “last update” option enabled in,

 cPanel>>Logs >>Awstats

If it is not there,you can also verify that the setting is actually enabled, by checking the AWStats Configuration File for a particular user,

For that,

Step 1. Login via SSH as root

Step 2. cd /home/username/tmp/awstats

Step 3. go to awstats.example.com.conf example.com will be the domain name.

Step 4. grep AllowToUpdateStatsFromBrowser

Step 5. It should be set to AllowToUpdateStatsFromBrowser=1

Step 6. If not, edit the file and save.

Step 7. Then restart cpanel

Now it should be enabled.
