How to install and configure CSF firewall on linux server:

You can install and configure ConfigServer Firewall (CSF) on your server by following this documentation,

1. Log on to the server as root

2. Go to /usr/local/src

cd   /usr/local/src

3. Download the CSF tar file from there website,

wget http://configserver.com/free/csf.tgz

4. Now extract the downloaded package using command,

tar xfz csf.tgz

5. Go to the directory,

cd csf

6. Install CSF,

sh install.sh

Now it will be installed on the server.

7. Go to the configuration file and disable the test mode,

vi  /etc/csf/csf.conf

and change the line,

TESTING = “1″

to

 TESTING = “0″

Now save the file and restart CSF using command,

csf -r

Now CSF will be ready. Now you can manage firewall and it’s settings directly from WHM for cPanel users.
